We (Mika’s mum and dad, Bayly and Ben) want to help find a cure for ECHS1 and make a difference in other children’s lives living with this disease.

Meet Mika
Mika (pronounced Mee-ka), was born in Nelson, Aotearoa, New Zealand, on 23 June 2024. After faiilng his newborn hearing screening, he began audiology testing at just 2 months old and was diagnosed with hearing loss in the high frequencies.
